gitignore.it

The .gitignore file is an important one to know if you're learning how to use Git.

Tell me more.

It's simply a file named .gitignore placed in the root of your Git repo. In it, each line identifies files that you do not want tracked in your repository - large files, user content, private configuration files, anything that you don't want to be a part of your project repo. The purpose of this site is to help you get started using .gitignore, using a collection of templates maintained by GitHub.
